Classical Ballet Technique


Focus on classical ballet technique, which teaches grace, style, flexibility, correct body alignment, and beautiful artistry.  Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles.

Acrobatic dance

Structured as a gymnastics, tumbling class, with an emphasis on transitions. Builds strength, flexibility, balance and control while learning to twist and tumble. 

All Instructors are certified through Acrobatic Arts.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid and intricate dance movements

Pointe


Dancers are required to be proficient in ballet technique and have strong feet, ankles, arches, calves, and core muscle. This is a class specific to strengthening the feet, alignment, and posture. . 

TAP

Tap is a unique style of dance involving specific and rapid footwork. The dancer's foot and shoe essentially act as a drum, and each part of the shoe makes a particular beat and sound.

Hip Hop


Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Students will find their rhythm and coordination. Students will be encouraged to  step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements

voice


Voice Class is an opportunity for singers, and those curious about if they are singers, to explore and learn about their voices. Through a variety of warm-ups, exercises, and songs, the students will focus on vocal technique and breath control to improve the quality, stamina and range of their singing. They will also explore song interpretation and learn proper performance practices when presenting the song in a concert or audition. Voice class is taught in a small group lesson format and offered as a 6 week introduction session. No previous musical experience required.

progressive ballet technique

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner. The program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. It can be difficult for students to feel which muscles initiate the correct alignment in training. However, with the use of an exercise ball, the students gain a great sense of posture and weight-placement

dancers who lift

"Dancers who Lift" is a strength and conditioning program designed specifically for the needs of dance athletes over the age of 11. Weight lifting is an essential piece of programming that builds muscular endurance, strength, stability and power as well as muscle group balance and injury prevention. It complements the progression of the dancers' skill, technique and mobility and supports their advancement of complicated sequences, lifts, aerials and other dynamic movement.

To be taught by a licensed personal trainer and designed in conjunction with a dance specific physical therapist.

jazz

Jazz dance is a form of dance that combines both African and European dance styles. This high-energy dance has a liveliness that sets it apart from traditional dance forms, such as classical ballet. Like jazz music, jazz dance features improvisation.
